HSBC Star Alliance Credit Card
1 To be eligible for Fast Track to Star Alliance Gold Status, you must apply and be approved for a new HSBC Star Alliance Credit Card and spend $4,000 on eligible purchases within the first 90 days from account opening. Star Alliance Gold status is granted through the corresponding status tier in the Frequent Flyer Program (FFP) of the participating Star Alliance Member Airline you nominate as your Status Airline through the Star Alliance Rewards Program. Refer to the Star Alliance Rewards Terms and Conditions for available status tiers and additional terms and conditions. Status will be granted within 30 days after reaching the qualifying spend of $4,000, provided that your account is active and not in arrears. Your status will be granted until the first anniversary of your account opening or earlier, if you qualify for a higher status with your selected Frequent Flyer Program by any means. You may not be able to receive Star Alliance Gold status with a participating Frequent Flyer Program if you already hold, by any means, an equivalent or higher status with that Program (more information available on the Star Alliance Rewards Terms and Conditions). You may only request status with one participating Frequent Flyer Program each time you qualify and may not switch Programs during the duration of that status. Any status granted under the HSBC Star Alliance Credit Card is withdrawn immediately if you close your HSBC Star Alliance Credit Card account. Offer is limited to new applicants only. Existing HSBC customers transferring from another HSBC credit card or customers who have held a HSBC Star Alliance Credit Card within the last 18 months are ineligible for this offer.

Earn 1 Star Alliance Point per $1 spent up to $3,000 per statement period on eligible purchases made in Australia and overseas. Every $1 spent thereafter will earn 0.5 Star Alliance Points per statement period. The earning of Star Alliance Points is uncapped.

HSBC Platinum Qantas Credit Card
1 For newly issued HSBC Platinum Qantas credit cards, a promotional earn rate applies for the first 12 months from your account opening date. In addition to earning 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent on eligible purchases, you will earn an additional 0.5 Qantas Points per $1 spent on eligible purchases processed within the first 12 months your account opening date. That is, you will earn 1.5 Qantas Points for every $1 spent on eligible purchases for the first 12 months from your account opening date. After the first 12 months from account opening, you will earn 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent on eligible purchases. Qantas Points will no longer accrue when the total value of your eligible purchases reaches $120,000 in each 12-month period starting from your account opening date. Qantas Points previously earned are subsequently deducted if there are refunds, reimbursements or chargebacks on your account. This promotional earn rate offer is limited to new applicants only. Existing HSBC customers transferring from another HSBC credit card or customers who have held a HSBC Qantas Points earning credit card within the previous 12 months from the application date are ineligible for this offer. 3 To be eligible for the introductory balance transfer interest rate, you must make the balance transfer request when applying for the HSBC Platinum Qantas credit card and the balance transfer must be from non-HSBC credit cards. The total balance transfer amount must not exceed 90% of your approved credit limit. The introductory interest rate on the balance transfer applies for 12 months from the day the balance transfer was posted. After this period, any balance outstanding will accrue interest at the variable cash advance rate (currently 21.99% p.a. and subject to change). HSBC will allocate payments we receive from you to pay off the portion of your balance which attracts the highest interest rate first, and then to portions of your balance that attract lower interest rates. This may mean applying all payments made to your HSBC credit card account to pay off other transactions such as purchases and cash advances before any balance transfer amount. 4 The balance transfer fee will be calculated at 2% of the balance being transferred to your HSBC credit card account. This fee is applied at the time the balance is transferred and forms part of the total outstanding balance.
