How to Install the Digital Secure Key onto your Device

You'll need the HSBC Mobile app installed on your device to upgrade to the Digital Secure Key.

If you don't have it, download it from the App Store or Google Play.

Frequently asked questions

For security reasons, your Digital Secure Key can only be registered to one device at a time.

You don’t need a mobile signal to use Digital Secure Key, so roaming settings won’t affect it. You do need a network or WiFi signal to access Mobile Banking services in the HSBC app, or for your initial download and set-up of the Digital Secure Key. Remember, your internet usage will be subject to your carrier’s usage limits and charges.

Before you change your mobile, you’ll need to deactivate your Digital Secure Key, through the app security settings menu.

Follow the simple instructions to activate your Digital Secure Key on your new device as soon as you have one, or call us and we’ll be happy to help. Whenever you change phones, it’s best to reset the old one to factory settings.
